The Bridge on Kachua–Betagi–Patuakhali–Lohalia–Kalaiya Road (Z-8052) over the Payra River at Pairakunja Ferry Ghat is a major infrastructure project undertaken by the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) to enhance regional connectivity across southern Bangladesh. The *1.69-kilometer bridge, along with approximately one kilometer of approach roads, will establish a direct link between Patuakhali, Barguna, and Barishal districts, eliminating the need for ferry crossings and significantly reducing travel time. The Payra Bridge was formally inaugurated on October 24, 2021, marking a key milestone in improving transport efficiency and supporting economic growth in the coastal region
